My latest comic for Breastfeeding Mama Talk is inspired by a somewhat recent conversation I had with friends. A friend of mine is getting married soon, and because my friends are super considerate, they wanted to push the bachelorette party back until after I have this baby. However, for those of your with kids, you know it’s waaaaay easier to go out for a weekend without kids vs going out for a weekend with a small infant at home. First of all, you don’t really want to leave your kid that soon. Second, you’ll be stressing the entire weekend. Third, if you’re breastfeeding (and probably even if you’re not) you really can’t predict how feeding will go. You need to ensure you’re able to pump enough to cover your kid for the weekend (and then some) and even if you’re able to do that, there’s a period where you need to figure out if your kid will take a bottle and what kind of bottle/nipple they like. There’s a lot of logistics to consider!
